- Develop skills in quantitative modeling of static and dynamic chemical systems.
- Select and apply appropriate physical measurements to laboratory investigations.
- Attain proficiency in conducting safe and proficient chemical/biochemical laboratory procedures.
- Develop an understanding of the energetics and catalytic processes that constitute intermediary metabolism.
- Develop laboratory competence in separation, analysis, and characterization of macromolecules from biological sources.
- Appraise and describe biological phenomena in chemical terms.
- Develop an understanding of the relationship between the amounts of substances involved and energy content changes during chemical reactions or changes of state.
- Develop laboratory competence in relating chemical structure to spectroscopic phenomena.
- Demonstrate fluency in written and spoken communication of the results of chemical investigations.
- Demonstrate ability to think independently and critically about new and/or more intricate information in an area in which the fundamentals have been previously presented.
