The Ohio Northern University American Marketing Association (AMA) chapter garnered two first place finishes at the AMA national conference held in New Orleans. The seven-member team from ONU took first in two of the three major categories, winning in best representation of conference theme and the marketing education requirement. ONU entered a trade show where they competed against 36 other universities in creating and operating a mock trade exhibit for an evening. The exhibit was visited by the 1,200 conference attendees and more than 70 faculty advisors. The ONU team was also one of nine chapters selected to provide a leadership session at the conference. The Ohio Northern University Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) team was named a SIFE USA Regional Champion, at the SIFE USA regional competition on March 28. The event is one of 17 SIFE USA regional competitions held across the United States in March and April. SIFE is an international non-profit organization active on more than 1,400 university campuses in 48 countries. SIFE teams create economic opportunities in their communities by organizing outreach projects that focuses on: market economics, entrepreneurship, personal financial success skills, and business ethics.
