The James F. Dicke College of Business Administration at Ohio Northern University is offering "Be Your Own Boss -- An Entrepreneur Learning Experience" summer camp from June 17 - 22. The featured program is open to high school students with a strong interest in entrepreneurship and small business. Students classified as "gifted" qualify to receive one college credit for attending the camp. The weeklong residential camp experience will guide the student through the entrepreneurial business creation process: from concept generation to business plan. Frederick C. "Fritz" Kucklick will be speaking on "Imagine Your Business Objectives, Then Work Out the Details" as part of the Ohio Northern University College of Business Dean's Distinguished Lecture Series in the Dicke Forum on Thursday, April 19 at 7 p.m.
As a senior at ONU, Kucklick (ME'69) created the "Essential Business Plan," a concept he has used throughout his career. He went on to co-found a machine tool design and manufacturing company that established international market leadership, received the distinguished U.S. Department of Commerce's Export "E" Award and was named one of Michigan's Top 100 Private Growth Companies.

Ohio Northern University student Kyle Webb, a senior accounting major from Wapakoneta, Ohio, recently received a $2,500 Memorial Education Fund Scholarship from the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA).
Scholarship applicants were required to demonstrate academic merit and participation within the IMA, as well as demonstrate community leadership, participation in extracurricular activities and professional work experience. Applicants were also evaluated on recommendations from their professional references.
Webb, as well as other scholarship recipients from around the U.S., will attend a formal awards luncheon on June 19 at the 88th Annual Conference & Exposition in Phoenix, Ariz.

The Ohio Northern University American Marketing Association (AMA) chapter garnered two first place finishes at the AMA national conference held in New Orleans.
The seven-member team from ONU took first in two of the three major categories, winning in best representation of conference theme and the marketing education requirement.
ONU entered a trade show where they competed against 36 other universities in creating and operating a mock trade exhibit for an evening. The exhibit was visited by the 1,200 conference attendees and more than 70 faculty advisors.

The Ohio Northern University Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) team was named a SIFE USA Regional Champion, at the SIFE USA regional competition on March 28. The event is one of 17 SIFE USA regional competitions held across the United States in March and April. SIFE is an international non-profit organization active on more than 1,400 university campuses in 48 countries. SIFE teams create economic opportunities in their communities by organizing outreach projects that focuses on: market economics, entrepreneurship, personal financial success skills, and business ethics.
