The mission of the Department of Mathematics is to provide an environment in which students grow intellectually and which encourages the continued professional growth of the faculty. To achieve this, the department is committed to introducing students to the concepts used in mathematics, to giving them experiences in the development and application of their critical and analytical reasoning skills, to exposing them to the relationships between mathematics and other fields of endeavor and to preparing them for their career choices.
